Tips for fishing in the Outer Banks sound?

I’m heading down to the Outer Banks in North Carolina for vacation for a week in July. I’m staying in a sound front house and to avoid walking over to the beach all the time I was hoping to do some fishing in the sound. I am used to bass fishing in my local reservoir and have no experience with fishing the sound. If anyone has any experience with fishing in the sound I would love to get some tips and suggestions. Thanks a lot.

    What part of the Outer Banks are you heading to? Here is some information you may find useful to what they call "inshore fishing". http://www.outer-banks-revealed.com/outer-banks-inshore-fishing.html . If you follow some of the links, it will give you more information on the type of fish that are running while you are there. On the fishing page http://www.outer-banks-revealed.com/outer-banks-fishing.html there is also three different fishing reports to keep you up to date on what is running.
