summer bass fishing tips.?
July 4, 2009
im going fishing for bass at a little lake in california called Rancho Seco. what would any of you suggest? Thanks and Fish On! <’}}}><
Stan T may just get best answer for his source!
whats noodling? oh and ill keep you posted "stop makin cents".
just found out what noodling is, screw that!
wow, what a day. we got there and right of the bat i cought a bass about a pound on a frog colored Zara Spook that i threw into some cover. that fish got tangled in the weeds so i had to walk in the water to get it, not realizing my ipod was in my pocket. so thats done. then it starts to get hot and the bite slows down. the fish sstart jumping everywhere eating the dragon flys, but wouldnt touch our top water lures. then my cousin lost 5 lures of mine, which he will replace, one of those was a frog lure that flew off when he casted, he was going to swim and get it, then a bass came and took it! that was funny! then as we were leaving this dirt road he was doing dounuts in the dirt, lost control and slamed into some wooden posts with his p.o.s. ford tourus. and that was the end of our day!

Got something to say?

From what I understand, a deep fished Finesse-worm is the top producer in Cali.
I would try deep cranks, deep Senko’s & deep worming "drop-shot" style.
Here’s a cool way to fish Senko’s deep: Buy (or find) a cheap wire clothes hanger. Get some wire cutter’s or needle-nose plier’s and clip the hanger into 1/2-1 inch pieces.
When you go fishing, push a piece of wire hanger into the end of your Senko. This will give it a different action AND help it sink quicker,(it has an "underwater Walk-the-Dog" action that works WELL!).
I use this rig alot when I "weightless worm" fish for Bass because I want the worm to sink a bit faster, and not change the "finesse" outline of the worm.
Hey! Tell us how your trip goes. I’ve never fished in the "west", would love to hear about it.
Later & Good luck!
Update:
What I call "noodling" is called "drop-shotting" elsewhere. I guess "noodling", in other prt’s of the country, is when you dangle your hands around in the water til a fish comes by, and then you grab it!
IMHO, you’ve got to have a noodle for a brain to use your hands "as bait"!
In other words, try "dropshotting"! (lol)
Sorry ’bout the confusion. Later.
whats bass?
Purple worms, red hooks!!! Trust me!
Try a carolina- rigged finesse worm, Green-pumpkin in color
Give it to Stan…
GET BAIT!!!
BRING A STEREO AND LISTEN TO MUSIC
FISH!!!
If it is a new lake for you to fish on take a good search lure like a white or chartruese spinner bait willow blades for clean water conditions or brown or red with colorado blade for murky conditions!
I always have my throw back worm or twin tailed skirted grub in green pumpkin,blue/blk,purple,gourd green ready if a fish comes to my bait and misses or just looks at it!
pick up small plastic worms called Renegades…they are scented and 4 inches and fish them slowly in bodies of water where the temperature is higher due to the season (summer) cast out let it sit for like 5 secs give it a tap let it sit and I know for a fact you will catch fish on it…I will show you some bassI caught on this plastic.
