Got something to say?

The ultimate bass bait is the texas rigged plastic worm. Use a 1/8th oz bullet weight and a 3/0 Gamakatsu worm hook. Do not be afraid to throw it in the thickest vegetation. Remember to let it fall into holes, work it slowly over weed beds. Try to take your time. When you cast it out, let it sink to the bottom before you start reeling. I cannot tell you how many bass I have caught on a cast that I never retrieved. Pay attention to your line as it sinks, you may see it twitch. Be ready to bust him. When he hits, I count one thousand one one thousand two, not letting him feel the line. Reel the slack and smack him.
My favorite color is Moccasin!
One of the best Things to use is a jig and plastic worm
also a jig and pig is a very effective method http://fishing.about.com/cs/bassfishing/a/aa031031a.htm
and crankbait can work well
if this dosnt work use live bait like crayfish or worms
Good Luck wth your fishing
try using live baits. Find out what live baits are around the pond and catch some or find lures that resemble those. When using these live baits use a slip bobber on your lines. this will allow the bait to move freely while you can also see when the fish is biting.
top water is mostly used early in the mornings & at night. theres alot of things you can do though. live minnows on a bobber, rubber worm texas rigged or a little rubber grub on a jig head. theres alot more but that will get you started.
Gecko is right, a Texas rigged plastic worm will work pretty good anywhere. Especially in the weeds. Skin hook the lure while rigging it Texas style. This makes it even more weed less as it is. I use a size 2/0 or 3/0 hook for 6" plastic worms, depending on the "fat-ness" of the worm. Most of the time i use a worm with no tail but i fish a lot with a small curl tail such as that of one found on a grub. I use a 1/16 oz. bullet weight for most of my fishing but a heavier one is needed for heavier weeds. My favorite color plastic worm is motor oil by the way.
You could also fish a rage tail toad over the weeds. It is a top-water weed less soft frog that is supposedly deadly on bass suspending in heavy cover watching the silhouette of a frog to come by. A plastic crayfish like the Berkley Chigger Craw, Texas rigged works right through and in the weeds, too.
For all of these baits, i would use baitcasting equipment. A medium-heavy action 6 1/2 ft. rod, and a baitcasting reel. Just personal preference but this is probably the best for your fishing situation along with situations i have come by.
One of my favorite ways to fish a samll weedy pond is with Zoom frogs (Natural frog or blue/black color) Use a wide gap hook and rig it texas style with no weight. Wait until evening and throw the frog right over patches of lilly pads and bring it back with a low steady retrive, just enough to keep it on top of the water. Bring it right through the lilly pads.
Fish will come up out of the thickest weeds, you never thought they’d be in and Slam the frog. You need to wait just a split second to set the hook for the fish to get it in its mouth good, and set it hard!
You’ll never have more fun fishing than with frogs in big weeds.
