i fish in the summer but i don’t really know what to use or how to use it in the winter. i fish for bass and catfish mostly but i know that the catfish all go to deeper water in the winter so i would like to fish for bass or any other fish that you think fishing for is fun. trust me, i’ll give it a try! i live in Oklahoma if that matters. any tips would be great! thanks guys.

Got something to say?

fish slower. spinnerbaits, deep diving crankbaits and jigs have always worked for me in the winter
also you can try to target catfish. try live, dead,or cut shad fished deep
hope this helps
good luck and good fishing
Lets stick to bass, when it comes to them i like to keep the moon and the water temps for that week in mind, with that "in mind" start to brainstorm your presentation deep or top water, colors, and the habits of these fish during these colder months…….Good Luck!!!
Slow down! Although red rattle-traps work very well!
Hey try to find some minnows at a baitshop. It might be kind of hard, but down south there is almost always someone carrying them. If you do happen to find them, use a deep set float. Works good for me, maybe it will for you too.
It all depends on the water temperature. Like everybody else says wisely, slow down… the fish slow down in the winter too. If it’s an exceptionally cold winter you might want to use live bait instead of artificials. For catfish, use a stink bait (you can find many recipes on Google). Good luck!
Bluegill, Crappie and Bass fishing is hot in the winter. Crappie and Bluegill fishing is easier and almost as fun as "bassin’". Crappie love minnows. Minnows would be your best bet for some tasty crappie. Also, Curly-Tailed Grubs will catch almost as many crappie as minnows do. Bluegill on the other hand, love worms. Plain ole earthworms under a float catch more bluegill annually than any other method tried. Also, curly-tailed grubs work pretty darn good for bluegill too. Worden’s Rooster Tails in 1/8 size are good for crappie and big bluegill. Berkley makes artificial baits primarily for crappie and bluegill fishing also. Go check them out.
