fishing for bass tips?

August 31, 2009

my lake is realllllly murky. When should i fish? What kind of bait for bass. I don’t know what type of bass. What color of the bait if the lake is murky. How long does it usually take to catch a bass. Where on the lake do they usually reside. From how far from the shore are they usually?
Do you use a bobber? If so, how far away from the hook do you usually put it?

    1. When should you fish?…..Always in the early morning or late evening no matter where you are, but the murkier the lake the larger these zones will be. so a lake that is clear may have a 530-9 am bite….a murky lake might be 630-11..

    2. How long does it take to catch a bass…..depends on the lake and the method used to catch them.

    3. Bass always relate to some structure…so on a clear lake they might be on main lake rocky points….in a constintantly murky lake they will be more spread out on stumps, tree, weeds etc.

    4. Catchable bass are easiest to catch when they are within 20-30′ of shore, but depending on the lake and water temprature might be at far deeper depths. A friend catches bass at over 50′ down drop shotting.

    Jigs are a versatile lure.

The answer to your question would be long enough to fill many books, or even a website.

In fact here is a link to the best bass related web site in the world.

    Have fun!!

If the lake is murky, use something with a brighter color. Also, lures that reflect light with something like a spinner might be good.

Got something to say?
